Order #533244 - 2 Cartons to Canada

Postby nxn » Thu Mar 04, 2010 10:50 am

Hello,

I am located in Vancouver, Canada and I put my first order through recently. I ordered two cartons of Gauloises with the awesome price, knowing I'd get hit with some duty charges probably, but got hit with a $129.20 duty fee...

This doesn't even make sense since the tobacco tax is only around $37/carton... thought I should share my experience. For any future Canadian orders.

I sent a message through the Customer Service mailbox as well, thanks!

Hello Customer,

We are sorry to hear that you had to pay such high duties for your order #533244. We do however make our Canadian customers aware of the fact that they may be asked to pay duties on their cigarette parcels. This information is clearly stated on the website.

It's hard to say how the Customs calculates these duties. Some customers pay smaller duties, others don't pay anything. In any case, there is always the option to refuse the package, and as soon as we receive it back we'll refund the order amount less shipping fees.

Thank you
